Bryant names Whitwell to fill vacant judgeship
Gov. Phil Bryant has appointed Robert “Bob” Q. Whitwell Sr. as chancery court judge in a district that includes Benton, Calhoun, Lafayette, Marshall and Tippah counties.
A vacancy on the bench was created when Judge Edwin H. Roberts Jr. died on July 1.
Bryant announced the appointment in a news release Wednesday.
