Motions filed in election challenge
The legal sparring in Ware v. DuPree has begun.
Specially appointed Judge William F. Coleman presided over an attorney’s conference Monday in Forrest County Courthouse, as yet another allegation of impropriety from the June 4 mayoral election bubbled to the surface.
During the proceedings, Coleman granted a motion from the Ware camp to subpoena cellphone records of city employees within the administration of Mayor Johnny DuPree.
Ware attorneys allege that these DuPree aides were improperly using their publicly-paid city cellphones to campaign for the mayor’s re-election.
