Scott and Fillingane ready to debate Medicaid
State Representative Omeria Scott said, “It doesn’t have anything to do with a Democratic or Republican. There are people out here who are working, working poor people who could benefit.”
Scott said it is time that Mississippi does something about its Medicaid issue.
“People who are out here working everyday at Wal-Mart, cleaning houses,” said Scott, “They are trying to make a living.” She added,”They can’t pay $400 or $500 dollars for health insurance. There are a lot of us who could not pay it if we were not on the government dime, like a lot of folks that’s in the legislature.”
Senator Joey Fillingane said Medicaid is an issue that must be address now. He said nearly 1.5 million Mississippians depend on it.
