Ex-town clerk facing trial in Sharkey County
State Auditor Stacey Pickering has presented the town of Anguilla with a $108,000 check to restore funds allegedly embezzled by a former clerk.
The town got the check Tuesday.
Pickering says in a news release that an investigation showed town clerk Manika Kelly allegedly embezzled funds from the town’s water and sewer accounts from October of 2006 to November of 2011.
