Harper profile in House rising
Looks like U.S. Rep. Gregg Harper is in the running for a powerful House leadership position.
The buzz on Capitol Hill, and here back home, is that Mississippi’s senior Republican representative is a likely choice for chairman of the House Administration Committee.
He’s the second-ranking Republican on the committee, a subcommittee chairman and well-liked by Speaker John Boehner, who would make the pick.
Such a move would make Harper Mississippi’s only full committee chairman in the House and give the state a megawatt increase in clout.
