Expansion reflects well on governor
If Gov. Phil Bryant has been laboring in the shadow of his economically adroit predecessor, he may have just emerged into the light.
Bryant and his newly-named economic development chief Brent Christensen struck an economic and public-relations coup with Thursday’s announcement that the Nissan plant in Canton will add 1,000 jobs.
“The news is a wonderful development for the economy of the metro area and the state in general,” said Marcelo Eduardo, dean for the School of Business at Mississippi College in Clinton.
“The increase in jobs speaks highly of the type of business environment that our governor has in place.
