Recommended by BIPEC Directors:
2012 SUPREME COURT CANDIDATES
The Directors of BIPEC have “Recommended” the following Supreme Court candidates as “best” for adhering to the impartiality and fairness of rule-of-law adjudication for MS’s highest court:
(Incumbents)
Chief Justice William “Bill” Waller, Jr. Central District
(vs Earle Banks)
Justice Mike Randolph Southern District
(vs Tal Braddock)
(Challenger)
Josiah Dennis Coleman Northern District
(vs Richard “Flip” Phillips)
BIPEC Directors evaluated many factors while considering these candidates as well as potential election unity within the business/employer community. Extremely important to BIPEC members and their representative trade and professional associations that support BIPEC, is upholding the constitutional separation of powers which distinguishes the intent, charge and actions of the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. Free enterprise and entrepreneurship requires an impartial, fair and rule-of-law judiciary – the idea and practice of “legislating from the bench” undermines the foundation of our free market economy, thus impacting employers and employees. Assessing this foundational philosophy as well as the working experience of their legal careers, candidates Waller, Randolph, and Coleman are “BIPEC Recommended”…
