Thompson: $2.2M grant for Mississippi crime victims program

A federal crime victims grant in the amount of $2.2 million has been awarded the Mississippi attorney general’s office, according to U.S. Rep. Bennie Thompson.

Thompson, D-Miss., says the funds came from the U.S. Department of Justice.

Thompson says the money will be used to enhance the attorney general-administered state program of compensation to eligible crime victims.
