Ross kicks off DeSoto campaign

District 1 congressional candidate Henry Ross kicked off his DeSoto County campaign Tuesday morning by promising supporters he would fight for smaller government and conservative ideals in Washington.

Ross said Washington has moved farther and farther to left, culminating with Barack Obama’s presidency.

“People got tired of this and wanted to do something about it,” Ross said to a crowd of supporters in the DeSoto County administration building. “In 2010, they said, ‘Hey, we’re going to elect some real conservatives to go to Washington, we’re going to turn the U.S. House over to the Republican Party and let them run it.’ Well, what’s happened since 2010? Nothing has changed.”
