Haley Barbour headlines event for Del. Comstock’s re-election campaign
The popular governor who used to head the Republican Governors Association and flirted with running for president will appear at the Washington offices of BGR Group, a well-connected lobbying and public relations company that he helped found. Tickets start at $100.
He’s one of the many bold-face names expected to help campaign or raise money for Comstock, former head of the Justice Department’s Office of Public Affairs and research director at the Republican National Committee.
Actor Fred Thompson, the former U.S. senator and Republican presidential candidate, told us this summer he planned to help his longtime friend who represents Fairfax County. Comstock is also close to presidential candidate Mitt Romney.
