Treasurer hopefuls cite experience
Republicans Lee Yancey, Lucien Smith and Lynn Fitch come from different backgrounds and have different responsibilities.
Yancey is a first-term state senator and investment adviser. Smith is a former budget adviser to Gov. Haley Barbour. Fitch heads the state Personnel Board.
They’re each hoping for a new job in November – state treasurer. Tate Reeves i s not seeking re-election, choosing to run for lieutenant governor.
