DAVE DENNIS FOR GOVERNOR RAISES $1.35 MILLION

Total raised in 2011 to date $559K; $417K cash-on-hand

Today Dave Dennis for Governor filed a campaign finance report reflecting a total of over $1.35 million raised since he launched his bid to become the next CEO of Mississippi. For the period of May 1, 2011 through May 31, 2011 he raised $103,883.04, and retains nearly a half-million dollars cash on hand ($417,108.29).

Dennis, a businessman from Pass Christian, will be in Verona on Saturday speaking at a pancake breakfast and the Verona political rally. Dennis said, “Wherever we go across the state, people tell us how refreshing it is to see someone from the private sector with proven job creation experience running for governor. They are tired of politics as usual and their generous support is making this campaign possible. I’ve very thankful to all of them.”

Campaign manager Brian Perry noted several upcoming fundraisers next week including one in Tupelo on Monday June 13, Lake on Tuesday June 14, and in Jackson on Thursday June 16, combined with the campaign’s cash-on-hand has it well positioned to continue to push its message out before the August 2 primary. The Jackson fundraiser is being hosted by Ambassador John N. Palmer and Matthew L. Holleman at $5000 a person/couple.

“The response since the campaign went up on television and radio has been overwhelming. The Dave Dennis message resonates with Republican voters who want someone from the private sector with a proven track-record of job creation,” Perry said.
