Gubernatorial candidates tackle economy
Two Republican gubernatorial candidates gave their business-focused pitches for revitalizing the state’s sluggish economy Saturday morning during the second meeting of the Pine Belt Republican Club.
Dave Dennis, a contractor from Pass Christian, stated that the United States’ economic “tipping point” – $14 trillion national debt; $14 trillion GDP – calls for private sector leadership.
“There is a clear choice between private sector leadership; private sector and community success; and career bureaucratic politicians,” said Dennis, regarding the August Republican primary.
