Judge: Mayor DuPree, city can’t shut down club
A Forrest County Chancery Court judge issued a permanent injunction against Hattiesburg Mayor Johnny DuPree on Wednesday, prohibiting him from revoking or suspending the operating license of a local nightclub owner.
However, in his ruling Judge Sebe Dale did say the injunction doesn’t prevent the city from “filing an appropriate court action” to shut down Remington’s Hunt Club if it wanted to.
It also doesn’t stop the city from adopting a procedure for handling similar issues in the future, Dale said.
