Barbour and Taylor – More resources needed
BILOXI, Miss. — Gov. Haley Barbour and Rep. Gene Taylor, D-Bay St. Louis, announced Monday that the Mississippi Coast Guard will be taking over more control of the Gulf oil spill response.
Biloxi-based Jason Merriweather, a deputy incident commander for the Mississippi Coast Guard, is charged with managing the assets the Unified Command in Mobile sends to the state.
