McGlowan aiming to make history

As a child growing up in Lafayette County, Angela McGlowan said her father, the late Rev. James Thomas McGlowan, an educator and minister, always told her education, after her faith, was the key to success in life.

McGlowan, 39, a former FOX political analyst, said her father’s guiding principles have helped steer her efforts in the First Congressional District race. She faces former Bush Justice Department official Henry Ross and state Sen. Alan Nunnelee in a bid to unseat Democratic incumbent Travis Childers.

The former Ole Miss Rebelette and pageant queen turned consultant and commentator is vying to become Mississippi’s first black elected woman to Congress.
