Childers Supports Expansion of Offshore Drilling
Washington, DC – Congressman Travis Childers (MS-01) released the following statement in support of today’s White House announcement to expand offshore oil drilling:
“Since taking office, I have been a consistent and strong supporter of increasing America’s energy supply through new oil drilling, and I commend the White House for expanding our offshore activity. Opening up new areas to energy development and exploration will ultimately reduce our dependence on foreign oil, strengthen national security, and help create jobs at home. During the last Congress, we successfully ended our nation’s offshore drilling moratorium, and today’s announcement is another significant step in the right direction. I will continue working with my colleagues from both sides of the aisle to further increase our domestic energy supply, keeping American dollars in American pockets and helping rebuild our national economy.”
