Barbour plans fifth budget cut this year
After hearing from state revenue estimators that the 2010 budget is expected to fall almost $500 million in the hole, Gov. Haley Barbour said he will make a fifth round of cuts today.
“I will make reductions in accordance with our new numbers,” Barbour said.
The $41 million he plans to cut today will put total budget reductions this fiscal year at 9.47 percent.
