Melton’s Former Bodyguard Asks For Jailer Job
One of the late Mayor Frank Melton’s former bodyguards said he wants to be a jailer at the Hinds County Detention Center.
Michael Recio filed a motion in Federal court asking a judge to give him permission to take a job at the jail.
Recio said, monthly — his family expenses are averaging $1,000 more than he makes. They’re close to losing their insurance benefits, according to him.
Recio pleaded guilty to lesser-charges in the federal trial involving the destruction of a Ridgeway Street-duplex in 2006.
