Holland, Clark and Calhoun speak at pro health care rally
State Reps. Steve Holland, D-Plantersville, Alyce Clark, D-Jackson, and Credell Calhoun, D-Jackson, were among the speakers who asked listeners to support health care overhaul.
“There’s a lot of … crazy talk going on in Washington,” said Holland, who chairs the House Public Health & Human Services Committee.
He urged audience members to call or write their Congressmen to pass reforms.
“There are too many naysayers in this state,” he said. “They haven’t heard from enough of us.”
Lucy Rankin, a Rankin County resident and former addiction-treatment counselor, told the gathering that she lost her health insurance after she quit her job to care for her dying husband.
