“Hey Congress, you’re fired” – 1,350 protest fed. govt. in Hattiesburg

Hundreds of protesters braved the rain Saturday to express their outrage against what they say is wasteful government spending.

“I believe that our country is headed in the wrong direction. We need to have our voices heard,” Hattiesburg resident Jeannie Galloway, 58, said, describing her frustration of what she called government takeover.

And she wasn’t alone.

Galloway was among 1,350 protesters at Hattiesburg’s Town Square Park, who expressed their distrust of state and federal officials. They believe officials are getting the country further into debt by unnecessary spending.
