Barbour expected to announce budget cuts Thursday afternoon

Some lawmakers say Barbour should wait, but state agency heads say it’s easier to deal with budget cuts early in the budget year rather than later. A five-percent budget cut made at mid-year makes the agencies essentially operate under a 10 percent budget cut for six months, which is problematic.
The bad news? This very well may not be the last cut made this budget year.
