A request to keep from public view information about alleged inappropriate contact between then-Circuit Judge Bobby DeLaughter and former Hinds County District Attorney Ed Peters will be the subject of a hearing today in Hinds County Circuit Court.
Plaintiff Eaton Corp. also wants the hearing closed before Circuit Judge Swan Yerger.
The hearing is the latest in the ongoing legal wrangling between Eaton and a group of former employees the company is suing. Eaton alleges that the former engineers stole trade secrets for military contracts from the Jackson company and gave the information to their current employer, Frisby Aerospace of North Carolina, when they went to work there in 2002.
The former employees deny the accusations and maintain through their attorneys that rulings from DeLaughter began going in Eaton’s favor when Peters became one of Eaton’s attorneys.
