Cochran announces project funding
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has provided $374,625 for a science education project in Mississippi, according to U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran.
Cochran says the money will go to the Mississippi University for Women at Columbus for its ongoing Science on the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway Project.
Field trips and workshops at MUW’s 190-acre Plymouth Bluff Center are geared toward increasing scientific knowledge among K-12 students by stressing environmental sciences.
