Jackson northsiders selected to Entergy’s advisory board
Three Jackson business leaders – Dr. Daniel W. Jones, Donald E. Meiners and LeRoy G. Walker Jr. – are among a group of seven Mississippians representing a diverse cross-section of business and community leaders who have accepted invitations to serve on the Entergy Mississippi Inc., advisory board.
“Energy is a defining issue of our time, and we face a number of opportunities and challenges as we prepare to meet Mississippi’s growing energy needs,” said Haley Fisackerly, president and chief executive officer of Entergy Mississippi Inc. “We’re seeking advice and feedback from our advisory board so that we can make balanced and informed decisions that best serve the needs of all of our communities and customers.”
As President Obama’s administration makes headway on crafting a national energy policy, utilities are being called on to support new programs and initiatives that will re-shape the country’s energy future. A shift toward more stable and renewable sources of power, including nuclear, as well as cap-and-trade policies to regulate carbon emissions, are issues that Entergy and many other utilities have already begun to explore
