Jackson official quits, won’t back Melton
Nina Holbrook, the city’s interim director of economic development and planning, said she stepped down amid frustration with city leadership.
Her announcement comes only weeks after Jackson Police Chief Malcolm McMillin resigned, saying he no longer supports Melton as mayor.
“If I can’t support him, I don’t need to be taking his money,” Holbrook said. “I can’t do that.”
Holbrook was hired by the city in June 2008. She said today that she has been frustrated with the city for months.
