Toyota: Blue Springs plant still to make Prius

A Toyota spokeswoman said the company has no plans to switch from producing Prius at its Blue Springs plant.

In a Bloomberg News story, Jim Lentz, president of Toyota’s Motor Sales said, “It’s conceivable that something else could go potentially in there.”

However, Barbara McDaniel, spokeswoman for Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing in North America, said Lentz gave that answer when asked about the possibility of another vehicle being produced at the plant.

“There are no plans to change vehicles at the plant,” McDaniel said.

The plant was initially slated to produce the Highlander.
