The Jackson City Council is expected to introduce a proposed uniform closing ordinance during a meeting today.
The ordinance, which was proposed by Jackson Police Chief Malcolm McMillin, would require all bars and nightclubs to close by 2 a.m.
Councilman Marshand Crisler said today will be a “first reading” and does not expect much discussion to take place.
After the ordinance is introduced, it will be pushed into the city’s planning committee, of which Crisler is chairman.
