Melton, bodyguards enter not guilty pleas
Today’s proceeding took about 20 minutes. Magistrate Judge Linda Anderson set a trial date for Aug. 18 and told the defendants they could not leave the state without permission. They also were told not to carry firearms.
“I’m concerned about that, I’m real concerned about that,” Melton responded.
Melton also said he did not understand the charges against him, at which time Anderson had the indictment read to him. He then said he understood.
