Court order barring criminal probe of State Farm remains in effect
A federal judge on Wednesday said he needs more time to weigh complex legal issues in a lawsuit that accuses Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood of violating an agreement to end a criminal investigation of an insurer’s handling of Hurricane Katrina claims.
In the meantime, U.S. District Judge David Bramlette said a court order barring Hood from conducting a criminal probe of State Farm Fire and Casualty Co. will remain in effect for up to a month.
