Mississippians would be able to learn more about crimes committed in their neighborhoods. Legislators deciding how to spend taxpayer money would not be allowed to do so behind closed doors.
And the Department of Agriculture, streamlined 12 years ago to save money, would be realigned to better protect consumers.
Democratic candidates Jamie Franks and Rickey Cole talked about those and other proposals in separate interviews with The Clarion-Ledger editorial board Monday.
