Mississippi State hosted Alabama on Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium in Starkville in a battle of undefeated SEC teams.

Yet, when the dust settled, it was a lopsided affair with Mississippi State losing by a score of 56-23.

The win was Alabama’s 17th consecutive over the Bulldogs.

Despite the loss, Mississippi State remained in the AP Top 25 this week, dropping only one spot to No. 17.

Alabama moved up one spot to No. 6.

Mississippi State has an off week and will return to action on Saturday, October 17. The Bulldogs will travel to LSU for what is slated to be an early (between 11 a.m. and noon) kickoff.
