Ahead of the state’s first reporting deadline of May 10th, Andy Taggart’s campaign for Attorney General announced raising over $300,000 in sixty days. With all campaign finance reports due on May 10th, Taggart’s campaign will file his early, showing over $308,000 raised in contributions from the day he qualified to run on March 1 through the cutoff date of April 30. Other candidates in the race will report on funds raised for four months to Taggart’s two.
“I’m honored and humbled,” said Taggart. “The numbers confirm what we are seeing every day: Mississippians are inspired by our campaign for the future, and eager to elect a seasoned courtroom attorney who has deep Republican roots and real-life credentials as the chief law enforcement official of our state.”

“The numbers you see are a direct result of the passion and excitement Mississippians have for Andy Taggart to be their Attorney General,” said Shannon Warnock, Taggart’s campaign manager. “Andy has been hyper-focused since announcing his campaign, and the numbers bear that out.”
Taggart has put together a team of Mississippians from throughout the state and all facets of the Republican party consisting of former military leaders, local elected officials, business owners, healthcare providers and other private sector leaders. “We need an Attorney General who understands the role, understands who it affects and understands how it can set the course for Republican ideas in the third branch of government,” said State Sen. Brice Wiggins, a former prosecutor, member of the Senate Judiciary B Committee and chairman of Taggart’s campaign steering committee. “Law enforcement, victims, judges, businesses and everyday Mississippians come into contact daily with our justice system. Knowing they have someone who understands them and who will prosecute the laws of the state with a Christian heart is important for us all. Andy is that person,” Wiggins added.
