BREAKING: Inside sources say PSC Brandon Presley considering run for MS Secretary of State in 2019

By: Sarah Ulmer - March 12, 2018

Y’all Politics got a tip from an insider that Northern Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley is thinking about throwing his name in for Mississippi’s Secretary of State seat in 2019.

Commissioner Presley has been serving the Northern District of Mississippi since 2007. He was re-elected in 2011 and most recently in 2015 winning over 31 out of 33 of the district’s counties. Before that he became one of the youngest mayors in the state’s history in Nettleton, at only 23.

He is the Chairman of the Public Service Commission and still a lifelong resident of Nettleton. Just this year, under his chairmanship, the PSC launched Hire Mississippi. The website caters to Mississippi construction companies and individuals in hopes of bridging the gap between then and the five major utility companies in the state. The website allows for businesses to enter their information and be alerted when contracts are ready for bids.

As for any other names in the race, it may still be too early to tell. Stay tuned to Y’all Politics for updates.
