Wicker Supports Amy Barrett’s Nomination to Federal Bench

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today issued the following statement after Republican Senate leaders and religious liberty groups met to discuss the nomination of Amy Barrett to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals:

“I strongly support the confirmation of Amy Barrett. Sadly, the tactics that Senate Democrats have deployed to delay her nomination prove the lengths they will go to distort the rules and abuse the process. They have even gone so far as to imply that her Catholic faith could be a liability. This week, we will overcome these unnecessary partisan delays and confirm this well-qualified conservative jurist to the bench.”
