Legislative delegates fill more than 50,000 meal packets
BILOXI, MS (WLOX) – Before the business portion of the Southern Legislative Conference kicked high gear, legislators packed the Coast Convention Center to help put food on the table for families in need.
Lawmakers from 15 southern states, and volunteers from around South Mississippi, participated in a 90 minute drive to help area food banks.
“The southern legislative conference, for six years or so now, has worked to help put a dent in the plight of the hungry,” said MS Speaker Philip Gunn.
