Hosemann: LLC startups booming

Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann said Mississippi is seeing “phenomenal growth” in new limited liability companies, which will eventually be a boon for the state’s economy, with more than half its workforce employed by small businesses….

…LLC startups for the first quarter of 2017 were at 6,068, compared to 5,642 last year, Hosemann said. (See more figures below).

“Our tax revenues will only rise when we have increased income for our workers, and that’s how you do it (small businesses),” Hosemann said. “Over half our workforce works in small business, not Nissan — thank goodness we’ve got Nissan and Ingalls — but our growth will come in the small business sector.”
