In 2004 Speaker Gunn was first elected to the Mississippi House of Representatives and in 2012 he was elected to become the 61st Speaker of the House of Representatives in Mississippi. This is the first time in 136 years a Republican has held this title in the Mississippi House of Representatives. Through the years, he has served on the Executive Committee of the Mississippi Republican Party and has served as Chairman of the Republican House Conference since it was formed in 2006. He was instrumental in organizing the Republicans in the House of Representatives for the first time in modern history.

Trump unveils deal to expand coverage and lower costs on obesity drugs
Medicare will start covering the treatments for people who have severe obesity and others who are overweight or obese and have serious health problems. Those who qualify will pay $50 copays for the medicine.
