Miss. bill: Front or back seat, buckle up if under 18
Senate Bill 2724, known as Harlie’s Law, would require passengers under the age of 18, whether sitting in the front or back, to wear a seat belt.
The bill originally specified all passengers but it was amended to apply only to those younger than 18.
Mississippi’s seat belt laws limit the seat belt requirement to the driver and front-seat passenger and require children under 7 to be restrained in a child safety seat, booster seat or seat belt.
