State senator says Mississippians will have to step up on infrastructure
JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) – Mississippi State Senator Willie Simmons says the Magnolia State is in dire need of improvement of its aging infrastructure. Simmons participated in a tour of Mississippi’s infrastructure with former U.S. Secretary of Transportation Anthony Foxx. Simmons was also tapped by Governor Phil Bryant to chair a bipartisan group to come up with solutions.
According to Simmons, some of the state’s bridges are due to be closed because they’re considered unsafe – that list of closures will be made public soon. In the meantime, we caught up with Senator Simmons on Saturday.
