But Democratic legislators say her one-hour presentation had a glaring omission. There was no data breaking down the dollar amounts of what each of the state’s 144 districts would receive (or possibly lose) under the new system.
Sibilia said her group is waiting for the go-ahead from legislative leadership to run the numbers, creating a tension.
“We need to know where this formula would move us,” said Nancy Loome with the public education advocacy group Parents’ Campaign. “Parents and teachers deserve to know what the impact will be. We need to know that before a single vote is cast.”
