From Mississippi Democrat Party email:
On behalf of the Mississippi General Baptist Convention and Members of the Mississippi Legislative Black Caucus, we are inviting you to attend the hearing on November 17, 2016, at the Mississippi State Capitol at 10:00 a.m. to hear the testimony and provide support of the pertinent issues that will be considered for the development of a common agenda to address some of the many deficits that our community is experiencing. You are a leader in your community and it is important that you come so that you can convey the agenda back to the people in your area. Make sure that you contact all elected officials, in particular, your supervisors and city officials, NAACP, pastors, deacons, trustees, community leaders, and leaders of local organizations in your area.
In the wake of the current political climate, it is important that we advance an aggressive legislative agenda to address the education, community development, and budget issues in the state of Mississippi. We want to be proactive and not reactive! It is critical that our legislators have a blueprint to follow that was developed and adopted for all us by all of us as the detailed agenda to be introduced and passed during the 2017 legislative session.
