Once again, WE THE PEOPLE pause to reflect on and celebrate our nation’s heritage this Independence Day.
It was the belief in freedom and individual liberty that inspired the founders to give their lives for the birth OF THE UNITED STATES and we continue to pursue their dream IN ORDER TO FORM A MORE PERFECT UNION.
We struggle still in our ESTABLISHment of JUSTICE, yet it is the rule of law and the recognition thereof that solidifies our unique experiment in this republic.
Government, at every level, seeks to INSURE DOMESTIC TRANQUILITY but our people grow increasingly polarized socially, fiscally and politically. We know a nation divided against itself cannot stand yet we continue to stretch our limits, testing America’s resolve.
Through it all, brave men and women of every color and creed from the coasts to the hills to the heartland continue to PROVIDE FOR THE COMMON DEFENSE, sacrificing their lives and families to secure our American way of life at home and abroad.
Our collective challenge remains, both in this generation and the next, of how we as a people envision and PROMOTE THE GENERAL WELFARE.
We cannot raise government on a pedestal while forgetting the joys of self reliance and placing our futures in the hands of bureaucrats. We must shoulder our burdens, reach beyond our station, AND SECURE THE BLESSINGS OF LIBERTY TO OURSELVES AND OUR POSTERITY.
If we the people DO ORDAIN anew a declaration of independence, not from a King but from the tyranny within ourselves which allows us to shirk from our individual responsibilities out of want for ease and comfort, AND ESTABLISH a commitment as one republic minus the labels and without malice one to another to refine ourselves and our great land, then THIS our CONSTITUTION FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA will solidify our place in history as that shining beacon on a hill where life, liberty and happiness are sought and celebrated.
May the Almighty forever bless America and may we be a people who are proud of our heritage, firm in our faith, and resolved to leave a legacy of liberty so future generations can employ their pursuits of freedom just as we have done thanks to those who came before.
