Mississippi goes big Trump, Clinton; party chairman share thoughts #MSprimary

By: Magnolia Tribune - March 9, 2016

Clinton, Trump win Mississippi primaries

“The great thing about Mr. Trump is he is not owned by any industry whatsoever,” said Mitch Tyner, former Mississippi Republican gubernatorial candidate and Trump’s state chairman. “He’s self-funding, so when he gets to be president, he will have no one owning him. Among Republicans — we’ve elected people who say very conservative things, then get to office or get to the presidency and are hamstrung by all the money they had to take to get there.”…

…”I’m pleased that Secretary Clinton did so well in Mississippi,” said Democratic Party Chairman Rickey Cole. “I always believed that she would. I appreciate the Sanders candidacy, but Mississippi Democrats overwhelmingly have supported the Clintons for many years.”…

…”We matter, and 40 delegates at this point is a pretty big deal,” state Republican Party Chairman Joe Nosef said. “… We now move ahead to the remaining states’ elections and look forward to having a nominee to rally around and support. It will soon be time to focus our energy on the general election and putting a Republican back in the White House.”
