2 election challenges heading to Miss. House committee
Dillon also ran against Myers in 2011. Both are from McComb, and they ran in District 98 in Pike and Walthall counties. Certified results show Myers received 2,003 votes to Dillon’s 1,859 in the Aug. 4 primary. Myers was unopposed in the Nov. 3 general election.
Dillon could not immediately be reached Tuesday. She asked the state Democratic Party in August to overturn her loss, and party Chairman Rickey Cole said Tuesday: “I didn’t see any merit in her challenge.”…
…The lone Democrat on the committee is Rep. Linda Coleman of Mound Bayou, who was Myers’ attorney when Dillon sued. Coleman said Tuesday she will recuse herself from considering Dillon’s petition to the House.
