City of Gautier motions to table saggy pants ban
Council members noted that the ban is a slippery slope on freedom of expression. The City of Gautier Police Chief Dante Elbin says he fears the ban may be stepping on constitutional rights, and recommends further research.
“Am I for the issue of having an ordinance in reference to these issues of public indecency, absolutely I am. My concern is the issue of overreaching by authorities into constitutional issues,” said Elbin.
