Tullos challenges way votes were counted in tied Mississippi House race

The Republican who lost an election tiebreaker in a drawing of straws is asking the Republican-majority Mississippi House to declare him the winner of the race.

In papers filed with the House, Mark Tullos of Raleigh says the Smith County election commission met secretly Nov. 9 to review affidavit ballots it had previously rejected.
