Capitol Resources Opens New Orleans Office

Capitol Resources, LLC, one of the largest and most versatile state-based lobbying firms in the nation, is expanding its footprint with a presence in New Orleans led by 12-year Capitol Resources veteran Lee Ann Mayo.

“We see tremendous opportunities for Capitol Resources in New Orleans and our state lobbying efforts in Louisiana, particularly with the post Katrina reboot,” says managing partner Henry Barbour. “Lee Ann has established herself as an accomplished lobbyist in the areas of health care, procurement, health and human services, communications, environmental engineering, workforce, transportation and economic development. She is smart and as tenacious as anyone on our team. We are excited to grow our firm in Louisiana with someone as capable as Lee Ann.”

Expands Louisiana Presence

The New Orleans office will work in conjunction with the firm’s Baton Rouge office, headed by Adam Haddox. In addition, the new office will help serve Capitol Resources’ clients on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Ms. Mayo relocated from Jackson, where she lobbied the Mississippi legislature for over a decade. Her extensive public affairs background also includes serving as director of communications for Mississippi Governor Ronnie Musgrove, vice president of business development for Southern Research Group, as well as stints in Washington, D.C., where she lobbied on behalf of the Jefferson Group and the National Beer Wholesalers Association. She began her career in Washington working for the Honorable G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery on the U.S. House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.

The new office is located at 627 Cherokee Street in New Orleans. In addition to Louisiana, Capitol Resources has offices in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, West Virginia and Washington, D.C. Capitol Resources LLC is a full-service bi-partisan government relations firm, established in 2001 by Clare Hester. Its principals are Clare Hester, John Lundy, and Henry Barbour.

NOLA Office Follows Texas Expansion

Capitol Resources recently announced that it expanded its lobbying firm into Texas by joining forces with Ray Sullivan and Sullivan Public Affairs. Sullivan has served on the senior staffs of two Texas governors and worked for three members of Congress and more than a dozen political campaigns, including three presidential races. Sullivan Public Affairs was founded in 2002 and has provided strategic, government relations, public relations and political consulting to clients in energy, transportation, education, telecommunications, regulatory and other issue areas.
