Power Bill Refund, But Not Before the Rate Hike for Mississippi Power Customers
The Public Service Commission votes 2-1 to let Mississippi Power raise their rates by eighteen percent in order to get work done on the Kemper Plant.
While the plant promises cheaper power rates in the future, it means more out of pocket for customers now. Folks will see the bill go up on the September billing cycle. If you’ve been paying one hundred dollars on your bill, it’ll go up to one hundred eighteen dollars.
Mississippi Power customers have been promised a refund stemming from the rate decrease in the past. That refund will come in the form of a bill credit that will appear on your October bill.
