COCHRAN STATEMENT ON THE SWEARING-IN OF REPRESENTATIVE TRENT KELLY
WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator Thad Cochran (R-Miss.), chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, today released the following statement congratulating Trent Kelly on his swearing-in as the U.S. Representative for Mississippi’s First Congressional District:
“I congratulate Trent Kelly on his swearing-in as United States Representative of the First Congressional District of Mississippi. I look forward to working with him for our State.”
Kelly was sworn in on Tuesday, June 9, by Speaker John Boehner. Cochran and U.S. Senator Roger Wicker went to the House of Representatives to join other members of the Mississippi congressional delegation in welcoming Kelly to the 114th Congress. Prior to his service in Congress, Kelly was the District Attorney for Lee, Pontotoc, Alcorn, Monroe, Itawamba, Prentiss and Tishomingo counties in Mississippi.
